CGR has considerable planning and development experience. We can
offer pre-submission advice on a range of prospective development
projects; coordinate and project manage the preparation of development
schemes and planning applications and handle the negotiations with
the local planning authority and other public bodies right through
the process to a successful conclusion. We are also able to prepare,
evaluate, review and comment on a range of planning strategies, policies
and plans.
Charles Green is an experienced chartered town planner who has worked
across the full range of planning practice including development,
plans and projects. He led the preparation of the first Unitary Development
Plan for the City of Salford together with extensive work on Salford
Quays and other major projects. Salford Quays has transformed the
former Manchester/Salford docks into a new quarter of the City and
has received national recognition for best practice in waterside regeneration.
CGR has worked with Valley and Vale Properties Ltd to secure planning
permission for the 237,659 sqm (2.6 million sq ft) Middlewood Locks
mixed use development. The scheme involves the redevelopment of a
8.52ha derelict site at the centre of the Manchester conurbation.
It includes 1754 apartments, nearly 68,000 sqm of offices together
with a hotel and associated retail/leisure accommodation. The scheme
is centred around the reinstatement and renovation of the former Manchester,
Bolton and Bury Canal.
